Our History
We both first met at a previous job with a prior knowledge of 3D Printing and had spent some brief time doing CAD in the past but were introduced to more technical and modelling concepts of the industry where we adapted and learned quick by doing our own research and teaching each other. It was during this job where we become quick friends after bonding over our shared interests and our neurodiversity. When our contract was coming to an end after the suggestion of a business we put our heads together and came up with the idea of Alchemist 3D.
Ieuan is the owner of Alchemist 3D and is responsible for customer communications, marketing, modelling, managing machinery and creating the very website you’re reading this on! Ieuan has a great deal of passion for what he does and is always attentive to customer needs.
Alex is a collaborator with Alchemist 3D, providing technical knowledge and a willingness to help out whether with machine upkeep, outsourcing modelling or offering a second opinion when needed.

As designers in this 3D space we believe that this industry is losing its creativity in what is arguably an inherently creative space. With the raise of generative AI taking jobs and the human spark we stand firmly against the use of such tools.
We at Alchemist 3D are AI free and human design first.
Our stance on AI
Working with plastic brings up a number of conflicts of interest when being environmentally sustainable but still it is within our power to limit our impact on plastic waste. When possible we recycle and reuse waste plastic and scrap filament. We also make products to last.
We aim to offer a wide variety of materials to improve our sustainability and limit our impact on the environment such as non-invasive materials that will not hurt the world around us.
For more information see our materials section.
